Ambarella X7

Ambarella launched the X7 on September 15, 2026, its first AI accelerator sold as a standalone chip rather than built into one of its camera system-on-chips. It plugs into an existing Arm or x86 host over PCIe or USB and adds inference support for CNNs, vision transformers, and multimodal transformer models without requiring a board redesign. Ambarella is pitching it at robotics and other “physical AI” products that need to bolt on vision and perception to hardware that was not originally designed for it. The company has not published pricing.
