Apple announced the M6 on August 25, 2026, putting it in the Mac mini rather than a higher-end machine and making it the first Apple chip built on a 2nm process. The 12-core CPU pairs two of Apple’s new “super cores” with four performance cores and six efficiency cores, and the 12-core GPU adds a Neural Accelerator to every core. Apple caps unified memory at 32GB, with the entry 16GB configuration running at 153GB/s of bandwidth and upgraded configurations reaching 170GB/s.

Apple says the jump is worth 40 percent faster CPU performance and twice the graphics performance of the outgoing M4 Mac mini. The Mac mini M6 starts at $899, a record high for the line, and ships September 22, 2026.
