Amazon Nova Pro is the flagship general-purpose model in Amazon’s Nova family, announced in December 2024 and served through Amazon Bedrock. It takes text, image, and video input, returns text, and supports a 300,000-token context window, priced at $0.80 per million input tokens and $3.20 per million output tokens. Amazon positioned it as the model for complex tasks such as multi-step reasoning, document analysis, and agentic workflows where Nova Lite’s lighter capability isn’t enough.

Amazon has emphasized Nova Pro’s combination of accuracy and cost relative to comparable frontier-tier models, and it serves as the teacher model for Bedrock’s model distillation feature, letting customers train cheaper Nova Micro or Lite models on Nova Pro’s outputs. It’s Amazon’s main answer to models like GPT-4o and Gemini in the enterprise Bedrock market, aimed at customers already invested in AWS infrastructure.
