Claude Opus 4.6

Claude Opus 4.6, released February 5, 2026, expanded the Opus line’s context window to 1 million tokens, up from the 200,000 tokens Opus 4.5 shipped with three months earlier. Anthropic held pricing steady at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens and focused the update on coding: the model plans more carefully before writing code, sustains agentic tasks over longer sessions, and catches more of its own mistakes during code review. It’s available across claude.ai, the Claude API, and the major cloud platforms, and it became the base Anthropic built the Sonnet 4.6 release on two weeks later.
