Claude Opus 5
Anthropic's newest Opus-tier model, priced the same as its predecessor
Claude Opus 5 is Anthropic’s newest Opus-tier model, released July 24, 2026 at the same $5/$25 per million token pricing as Opus 4.8, half of what the larger Claude Fable 5 model charges for similar intelligence. It ships with a low, medium, and high effort toggle so developers can trade cost against reasoning depth on a per-request basis, plus a faster mode that doubles the price to $10/$50 in exchange for roughly 2.5 times the speed. On SWE-bench Pro it scored 79.2 percent, roughly double the agentic coding score Anthropic reported for the previous Opus generation, and it posted 43.3 percent on Frontier-Bench and 30.2 percent on ARC-AGI-3. It carries the 1 million token context window that has been standard across the Opus line since Opus 4.6, and it’s available on claude.ai, the API, and the major cloud platforms from launch.
