EXAONE 3.5 is LG AI Research’s follow-up to EXAONE 3.0, released in December 2024 as a family of three instruction-tuned models at 2.4B, 7.8B, and 32B parameters, letting developers pick a size that fits their hardware rather than being stuck with one. All three support a 32,000-token context window, up from 4,096 in the previous generation, and are trained for bilingual Korean-English use plus general instruction following. Like its predecessor, EXAONE 3.5 is distributed under LG’s own EXAONE license rather than a standard open-source license such as Apache or MIT, which allows free research and personal use but limits commercial use without a separate agreement with LG. The weights are available on Hugging Face and through tools like Ollama.
