Gemini 3.5 Pro
Google's next-generation frontier model, announced but not yet fully released
Gemini 3.5 Pro is the high-end model in Google’s next Gemini generation, following Gemini 3 Pro and its 3.1 Pro update. Google announced it at I/O in May 2026 alongside Gemini 3.5 Flash, which reached general availability first. As of mid-July 2026, Gemini 3.5 Pro itself is still not broadly available: Google has confirmed the model is real and in internal use, with a small number of enterprise testers given early access through a developer platform, but the company has not published a model card, final pricing, or a firm release date.
Reporting on specifics such as a 2 million token context window, an expanded “Deep Think” reasoning mode, and stronger coding performance comes from leaks and third-party sources rather than an official Google announcement, so those numbers should be treated as unconfirmed. Google has cited a need for further quality refinements after enterprise feedback as the reason for the delay past its original June 2026 target. Once it ships, Gemini 3.5 Pro is expected to replace Gemini 3.1 Pro as Google’s flagship offering through the Gemini app, Vertex AI, and the Gemini API.
