Hunyuan Turbo

Hunyuan Turbo is Tencent’s production-tier large language model, offered as an API-only service through Tencent Cloud rather than as open weights. Tencent positioned it as the fast, lower-cost counterpart to its larger flagship Hunyuan models, aimed at applications that need quick responses at scale, such as chat products and customer service bots built on WeChat and other Tencent platforms. The company has not disclosed the parameter count, consistent with how it handles its other proprietary API tiers, but has published pricing and periodically cut rates as it iterated toward successor tiers like Hunyuan Turbo S. It supports a 128K context window and is aimed at developers who want Hunyuan-family quality without paying for or waiting on the largest model in the lineup. Its main competition comes from other Chinese low-latency API tiers, including Alibaba’s Qwen-Turbo and Baidu’s ERNIE Speed.
