Kling 2.0

Kling 2.0 is Kuaishou’s video generation model, launched in April 2025 at the company’s “Inspiration Comes True” event alongside a matching image model, Ketu 2.0. It takes text prompts or reference images and turns them into video, and Kuaishou focused the upgrade on smoother, more natural motion after earlier Kling versions drew criticism for stiff or jerky animation. The Master Edition adds a multimodal video editing feature that lets users add, remove, or replace elements in an existing generated clip by feeding in new text or images, rather than starting a generation over from scratch. Kuaishou positions Kling as a direct competitor to Runway, Pika, and Sora, and the 2.0 release was aimed at closing the gap on complex prompts, camera movement, and visual consistency across a shot. Kuaishou has continued iterating quickly since, with 2.1, 2.6, and 3.0 following within about a year.
