Alibaba open-sourced Qwen-Image-2.1 on September 20, 2026. The 7-billion-parameter model merges text-to-image generation and image editing into a single system, supports a real alpha channel for transparent output, and accepts up to 10 reference images per generation. Weights are available on Hugging Face under an Apache 2.0 license.
