Adobe Firefly AI Assistant
Adobes agent that works across Creative Cloud apps from one prompt
Firefly AI Assistant is Adobe’s attempt to bring an agent into its creative apps. Instead of opening each application and applying tools by hand, you describe an outcome, such as adapting a campaign image into several social formats or preparing a video with captions, and the assistant works out the steps. It then carries them out across the right apps in order. The project began under the name Project Moonlight before launching as Firefly AI Assistant.
Control stays with the person. The assistant shows what it plans to do, and you can step in, change direction, or take over manually at any point. Because it works across Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io, it can handle jobs that normally mean moving files between programs and repeating edits. Adobe has said it is exploring support for models from other companies.
The assistant draws on Firefly generative credits, and Adobe has not detailed how it will be priced on its own, so costs depend on your Creative Cloud plan and usage. Like other agents, it is best on well-defined, repetitive production work, and its output still needs a designer’s review. Canva’s AI features and Figma’s AI tools aim at similar convenience for less professional users. For people already working in Adobe’s apps all day, it is the most natural agent to try.
