Adobe Substance 3D
Texturing, material authoring, and staging tools for 3D artists
Substance 3D Painter lets artists paint directly on a model with layers, masks, and smart materials that react to the shape underneath. Designer builds procedural materials from node graphs, so one material can produce many variations. Sampler turns photos and scans into tileable materials, and AI features help with that conversion.
Game studios, film teams, and product designers use it to texture assets, then export to engines such as Unreal and Unity or to renderers like Arnold. PBR output is the default, so materials look consistent across tools.
It is a subscription product from Adobe. Quixel Mixer and Blender texture painting are free options. Substance 3D suits artists who texture assets for games, film, or product visuals.
