Cavalry offers a different way to make motion graphics. Instead of placing keyframes for each property, you build systems: duplicate a shape in a grid, add a noise behavior, connect values with expressions, and see the animation emerge. Changing one parameter updates the whole piece, which makes iteration quick for design-heavy work such as logo animations, generative patterns, and loops.

It combines 2D vector design, animation, and rendering. Features include a timeline, a node-based graph for connections, text and font tools, and the ability to import vector and bitmap assets. It exports video, sequences, and Lottie, and has tools for creating assets for social media and games. Scripting allows custom behaviors for technical artists.

Cavalry has a free tier with some limits and paid subscriptions for professional use. It is a specialist tool and not an editor or compositing suite, so many designers pair it with After Effects or other apps. Alternatives include After Effects, Apple Motion, Blender, Rive, and Jitter. Cavalry suits motion designers who like procedural, systematic workflows.
