Claude Design
Anthropic Labs tool for creating visuals and prototypes with Claude
Claude Design lets you make visual material by talking to Claude. Instead of dragging shapes in an editor, you ask for what you need, such as a slide deck for a product update, a landing page mockup, or a clickable prototype, and Claude builds a first version. You refine it with follow-up messages, like asking for a calmer color palette, a different layout, or an extra section, and the design updates.
The tool came from Anthropic Labs, the group that tries out new product ideas. It makes the most sense for people who need a decent first draft quickly and already work in Claude, including founders, product managers, marketers, and engineers who are not designers. Because the output is built from a description, it can be a fast way to explore several directions before deciding where to invest more effort.
Claude Design is available on paid Claude plans. Designers who need pixel-level control, brand systems, and collaboration features will likely still prefer dedicated tools such as Figma. Generated layouts can look generic without direction, so providing brand colors, examples, and specifics helps. Alternatives include Canva’s AI features, Figma Make, Lovable and v0 for web prototypes, Gamma for presentations, and Google’s design tools. It’s an experiment worth trying for fast drafts.
