Dotmatics sells a connected software platform for laboratories. Scientists record experiments in electronic notebooks, manage samples and compounds, analyze results, and search data across projects. The aim is to link research data that would otherwise be spread across spreadsheets and separate instruments, so teams can find and reuse it.

The company has assembled a portfolio of well-known science tools. SnapGene supports molecular biology, GraphPad Prism is a standard for statistical analysis and graphs, Geneious handles sequence analysis, and other products cover chemistry, biology, and lab informatics. Machine learning and analytics features help with tasks such as modeling and data search.

Siemens acquired Dotmatics to combine lab software with its industrial and digital twin products. Dotmatics is sold to research organizations on subscription, with individual tools also sold separately to academics and small labs. Alternatives include Benchling, Revvity Signals, Thermo Fisher software, IDBS, and LabArchives. Dotmatics suits biotech and pharmaceutical R&D teams.
