Dropbox Sign lets people sign documents without printing them. You upload a file, mark where each signer needs to sign or fill in fields, and send it by email. Signers open it on any device, sign, and the finished copy is stored with an audit trail that shows who signed and when. Templates make repeat documents such as contracts and NDAs quick to send.

The product started as HelloSign and was acquired by Dropbox, which renamed it. It connects with Dropbox storage, Google Drive, Gmail, Microsoft tools, and CRM systems, so documents can be sent from where they already live. A developer API lets software companies embed signing flows inside their own products, and Dropbox has added AI features in its wider document tools.

There is a limited free plan and paid plans for more documents, templates, and team features. Electronic signatures are legally recognized in many countries, though some document types still need other formalities. Dropbox disclosed a security breach affecting Dropbox Sign customer data, which is worth knowing when choosing a vendor. Alternatives include DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat Sign, PandaDoc, SignNow, and Zoho Sign. Dropbox Sign suits individuals and small teams with simple signing needs.
