Weave brings generative image workflows into Figma. Instead of exporting an image to another tool, a designer can run a prebuilt workflow on a selected layer, for example swapping the background of a product shot, applying an artistic style to an image, or creating variations. More than twenty such workflows cover common creative tasks, and the results land back in the design file, ready to be used in a layout.

The idea comes from node-based generation tools, where steps are connected to produce an image, now packaged as ready-to-use actions for people who don’t want to build the pipeline themselves. Figma says it plans deeper integration between its design tools and Weave over time. During the open beta, the tools were limited to certain paid plans and did not use AI credits.

Availability, plans, and credit usage may change as the feature leaves beta, so check Figma’s documentation. Generated imagery should be reviewed for quality and rights, and a team’s policies on AI use may apply. Alternatives include Adobe Firefly and Photoshop’s generative tools, Canva’s Magic Studio, Krea, and ComfyUI for custom pipelines. See the main Figma entry for the design platform that hosts it.
