Foxglove helps robotics teams understand what their machines did. Robots generate streams from cameras, lidar, GPS, motors, and logs, and debugging requires looking at them together on a timeline. Foxglove’s viewer shows images, point clouds, plots, maps, and 3D scenes in customizable panels that stay synchronized, and it works with ROS and other frameworks.

The platform adds data management. Teams upload recordings to the cloud, search across them by metadata and events, share links to specific moments, and collaborate on issues. The company also created MCAP, an open container format for multimodal robotics data that is now used widely, including as the default recording format in ROS 2.

Foxglove has a free tier for individuals and small teams and paid plans for larger deployments. It focuses on visualization and data management, not on simulation or fleet control. Alternatives include Rerun, Rviz and PlotJuggler for ROS, Webviz, and Weights & Biases or custom logging for ML-heavy teams. Foxglove suits robotics and autonomous vehicle teams debugging real-world runs.
