Muse Image is Meta's first in-house AI image generator, built by Meta Superintelligence Labs and rolled out inside the Meta AI app, Instagram Stories, and WhatsApp. Rather than mapping a prompt straight to pixels, it works more like an agent: it calls its own search and coding tools mid-generation, checks its output, and revises before handing back a result. It supports single and multi-image edits, including changes sketched directly onto a photo, and replaces Meta's earlier reliance on third-party models from Midjourney and Black Forest Labs. A companion video model, Muse Video, was previewed alongside it.
