Riverside solves a familiar remote-recording problem: video calls compress audio and video, so the recording sounds and looks poor. Riverside records each person’s microphone and camera on their own device and uploads the files in the background. The result is uncompressed audio and up to 4K video, with each participant on a separate track, unaffected by a weak internet connection during the call. Hosts and guests join through a browser link without installing anything.

After the session, an editor lets you cut the recording by editing the transcript, adjust layouts, and clean up audio with noise removal and level matching. The AI tools help with the work of getting content out: they pick highlights and make short clips for social media, write titles and show notes, and create promotional assets and thumbnails. Riverside can also stream live to several platforms at once and supports webinars and group sessions with producers and audience features.

There is a free plan with limited recording and export quality, and paid plans raise the limits and unlock higher resolution, more hours, and AI features, with business plans for teams. It is used heavily by podcasters, marketing teams, and journalists who want a polished result without a studio. It requires a reasonably modern computer and browser. Zoom and SquadCast are alternatives, Descript offers stronger editing, and StreamYard is more focused on live streaming.
