Salesforce Agentforce
Salesforce platform for AI agents inside CRM, Slack and Data Cloud
Agentforce lets companies deploy AI agents that work inside Salesforce. An agent might answer customer questions, qualify inbound leads, schedule meetings, or update records, using the company’s own data and rules. Builders define an agent’s role, topics, and the actions it may take, connect it to knowledge and data, and test it before release. A reasoning engine decides how to handle each request, and guardrails limit what the agent may do.
Salesforce offers prebuilt agents for common jobs. Examples include an agent that works the inbound sales pipeline, one for outbound prospecting, service agents that handle cases, and an agent aimed at employees to help them across tools. Integration with Slack puts agents where teams talk, and Data Cloud gives agents unified customer information. The platform has begun to support models from other labs, including a Claude integration in beta, and works with outside agents through open protocols.
Agentforce is sold with consumption-based pricing, such as per conversation or per action, in addition to Salesforce licenses, and the cost depends on usage. Value depends on clean data and well-defined processes, and agents need monitoring because they act on customer records. Competitors include Microsoft Copilot Studio and Dynamics 365 agents, ServiceNow, HubSpot’s Breeze agents, and specialists like Sierra and Decagon. It suits companies that already run their business on Salesforce.
