Shortform

Shortform sits between a short summary and the book itself. Each guide covers a book’s ideas in depth, adds analysis comparing it with other books, and includes exercises that help readers apply the lessons. Readers can use them to decide what to read in full or to review a book they have finished.

The library spans business, psychology, history, and self-help, and includes guides to classic works and some articles and fiction. AI features offer a chat assistant for asking questions about a guide.

Shortform is a paid subscription. Summaries reflect the writers’ views and can simplify complex arguments. Alternatives include Blinkist, Headway, getAbstract, Readwise, and Audible. Shortform suits readers who want deeper summaries.
