Skool is a simple platform for running a community. Members post in a feed, take courses in a classroom section, attend events from a shared calendar, and earn points for participating, which unlock levels on a leaderboard. The gamification is meant to keep people engaged without a lot of setup.

The pricing and design are deliberately simple. Skool charges a flat fee for community owners and offers few customization options, so creators spend time on content and members, not on configuring a site. Communities can charge a monthly or annual fee, and a built-in discovery page, plus members’ direct messages, helps people find groups.

Skool has become popular for coaching, business education, and hobby communities. The trade-off is limited branding and fewer integrations than larger platforms. Alternatives include Circle, Mighty Networks, Kajabi, Discord, and Patreon. Skool suits creators who want a lightweight way to run a paid community.
