Zety walks job seekers through making a resume. You choose a template, answer prompts about your experience and education, and see a preview that updates as you type. The builder suggests wording for job duties and skills, which is helpful if you struggle with the phrasing, and it formats everything cleanly for PDF or Word download. It also builds cover letters and offers a library of guides and examples for different industries.
AI features include a writer that drafts bullet points and summaries from your input, a resume scorer that evaluates completeness and effectiveness, and a checker for readability and applicant tracking system compatibility. A job-matching tool can tailor your resume to a posting. The site is part of a family of career products under the same company as Resume Genius’s competitors, and shares a similar style with some of them.
Zety lets you build for free, but downloads require a paid plan, often starting with a short trial that renews at a higher price, which has drawn complaints, so read the terms and cancellation process. AI-generated text should be edited for accuracy and personality. Alternatives include Canva, Kickresume, Resume.io, Rezi, Enhancv, and Google Docs templates, which are free. Zety suits job seekers who want guidance and polished templates.
